What Does “AXA” Stand For?

“AXA” may look like an acronym but it is not. The name was chosen because it can be “pronounced easily by people who speak any language.” The name was chosen by Chairman and CEO Claude Bébéar in 1985. This was after a lengthy selection process was completed to come up with a new name for the company.
