If you’re driving around in a BMW X5 or Dodge Challenger you’ll definitely want to consider the Atturo AZ850’s. Although Atturo is best known for their off-road truck tires they’ve managed to design a pretty solid ultra-high-performance summer tire. The Atturo AZ850 was built to deliver excellent cornering grip & stability while providing increased dry and wet traction. These tires are designed for sports trucks, SUVs, and crossovers at a quite affordable price compared to the bigger brand models.

One of the perks of the Atturo AZ850 is that it’s available as a run-flat model. Their run-flat sizes are designed to allow for up to 50 miles of driving at 50 MPH, or 80km at 80 KPH, with zero air pressure. Their RFT option provides an affordable alternative to the typically overpriced OEM tires found on many performance SUVs and muscle cars.

Performance Review

Treadwear and Durability

Atturo uses a unique rubber compound for their Az850 tire which is designed to improve rolling resistance. This typically means the tire will get better fuel economy, but in this case, the rubber compound allows the tire to run cooler at higher speeds – which helps them last longer. This is somewhat reassuring as the tire’s 320 UTQG rating indicates the tire will wear quickly – usually around 40,000 miles. Unfortunately, no tread-life warranty is offered, but the low price point makes up for the lack of warranty.

Dry Performance

Being a high-performance summer tire, the Atturo Az850 tire provides excellent traction in summer weather. The dual-zone asymmetric tread design boosts the dry and wet weather road gripping ability. The tread is split up into dry and wet zones that correspond with the performance of the tire in specific weather conditions. The dry area of the tire is optimized with a high bead filler, jointless bead wire, jointless nylon band, and high tensile speed belts that help strengthen the tire when driving at high speeds.

Wet Performance

The Atturo AZ850 provides exceptional traction when driving in wet conditions. As I mentioned above, the tire design is split up into dry and wet zones. The wet zone of the tire has finely sliced blocks on the inside of the shoulders that help to reduce noise and allow water to flow out of the contact area. The tires also have four main channels which help increase grip in wet road conditions. The oblique lateral grooves in each of the tread blocks help the tire disperse water from each area while in motion.

Comfort & Noise

The Atturo Az850‘s asymmetric tread design features a unique blend of inside & outside contours which help achieve balance across the tread face. These features help evenly distribute the pressure of the contact surface which enhances the tire’s controllability. The solid center rib boosts the steering responsiveness and driving stability. On top of that, the jointless nylon band in the internal structure helps maintain the integrity of the tire while driving. Combined, these features help make the car steering faster and more precise while the structure of the tire is stabilized against the driving pressure. These tires also provide a quiet driving experience. The inner tread area has finely sliced sipes that prevent air from entering the tire – which means road noise is not generated while the tire is in motion.

Atturo AZ850 Price

The Atturo AZ850 can be found for as low as $114.99 and can go up to $262.99 depending on the size. These price points make this tire one of the most affordable options for sports cars, modern luxury sedans, or performance crossovers.
