Treadwear and Durability
Treadwear is very important when it comes to your tires. The longer the treads last, the less time you have to spend looking for new tires. Kumho has produced winter tires, as well as all-season tires, that have longer tread life.
When manufacturing the Kumho Crugen HP71, an all-season tread compound was molded into a five-rib design, where the technology of variable pitch was utilized. When this is combined with the strong shoulders, handling is easier, as is the steering response. These two also stop irregular wear while providing stability.
Four circumferential grooves, the notches in the ribs, and the wider shoulder grooves remove water from the tire’s path so there is hydroplaning resistance. When there are slippery conditions, the sipes and independent tread blocks produce gripping edges for better traction.
Dry Performance
Designed as an all-season tire, the HP71 is optimized for dry weather conditions. Excellent performance was cited in various review posts. In both cornering stability and steering response, the end result was excellent.
Wet Performance
There is good wet traction on the Crugen HP71 tires. In both hydroplaning resistance and wet traction, these tires performed nicely. This model of Kumho tires are very safe and will assist the driver in having good control and handling when it is raining or the snow has just melted. Due to the tire’s tread pattern, they are able to perform as well as they do.
Snow Traction and Braking Performance
These tires do really well in light snow traction. Unfortunately, they do not do as well when there is heavy snow traction. But they still are decent when the snow is heavier. They perform slightly better on ice than on heavier snows.
Comfort & Noise
It is crucial to find a tire that has excellent comfort and noise so your drive is more enjoyable. This is especially true for when you have long distances to drive. After all, no one wants to be stuck in a car that loud and vibrating the whole trip.
The special pitch pattern that is included on these tires diminishes noise while the tire is in motion. A noise-canceling frequency is generated that reduces the sound before it reaches the interior of the vehicle.
Vibrations are another pesky occurrence that can happen on many different tires. Kumho offers this tire that essentially guarantees a vibration-free drive. The ribbed pattern on the tire not only improves the driving but also absorbs the shock when driving.
A smooth ride is provided when Kumho Crugen HP71 tires are installed on a vehicle. You can ride in style while having excellent noise control and ride quality. If you are looking for a top tier that has luxury written all over it, then go with the HP71.

Tire Warranty
The Warranty on the Kumho Crugen HP71 is for 6 Years / 65,000 Miles Half mileage if different size front/rear tires. It does have a Uniformity Warranty for the first 2/32″ of wear. The Workmanship and Materials Warranty is good for 6 Years with a free replacement of the first 2/32″ of wear, then prorated to the final 2/32″ remaining depth. There is not a Manufacturer’s Road Hazard Warranty. Under many states’ laws, tires become legally worn out when they reach 2/32″ of remaining tread depth (identified when the tread blocks/ribs wear down to the bars molded across their tread pattern). Tire manufacturer treadlife/mileage warranties specify pro-rated replacement will only be considered when all four tires reach that point.
Treadlife/mileage warranties generally don’t apply to tires fitted as Original Equipment on new vehicles (unless specifically included by the tire manufacturer). Replacement tires covered by a treadlife/mileage warranty have the warranty cost factored into their price.
Treadlife/mileage warranties only apply to the original owner and vehicle upon which the set of tires was initially installed. If you have any questions, you should contact customer service. They will be able to provide you with the information you need about your vehicle’s warranty.
