Pros

Cons

The Kumho Crugen KL33 is designed for a light truck, crossover, and SUV to have high traction and grip levels. These Kumho tires have a sporty look with a sidewall that is on the glossy side. These tires have a refined and sophisticated look.

Kumho is a company that can be trusted, as it has been around for over 60 years. The KL33 was designed to perform in all seasons and handles everyday driving situations flawlessly. It was originally developed as original equipment for the Hyundai Santa Fe.

There is a warranty offered with the Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 tires. Kumho provides a 60 000 mile or 6-year limited treadwear warranty. Towards the end of 2013, the “Crugen Premium” name changed to the “City Venture Premium” name, However, there was no tread design, construction, or materials changes to these tires. . Likewise, Crugen Premium and City Venture Premium tires of comparable tread depths may be utilized interchangeably in single applications or axle pairs.

Kumho Crugen KL33 Performance Review

Treadwear and Durability

Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 tires provide the driver with a great experience for the price paid. You can expect them to last 30, 000 to 40, 000 miles. Most drivers are happy about the tread life, but in one review, there was some motorist that stated that the casing was not up to par. However, there is a 60 000 mile treadwear warranty.

Dry Performance

Traction on dry highways with the Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 is amazing! We were very pleased with how these tires handled on dry pavement. The braking performance on this is highly rated, no matter if you drive a truck, crossover, or an SUV. In surveys, this tire was rated as good for cornering stability and steering response.

Wet Performance

The Crugen Premium KL33 can drive in damp conditions, but if you live in a heavy rainy section, you may want to think twice about purchasing this tire. The KL33 tread was designed to resist hydroplaning. But we attribute this to the older tread compound that these tires are manufactured with. In reviews, this tire did decent on wet traction and hydroplaning. The damp roads can attribute decent friction due to the independent tread blocks.

Snow Traction and Braking Performance

While the Crugen Premium KL33 tire is listed as all season tires, this tire has some issues with the snow. Light snow is where it struggles a bit. While you can drive this Kumho Crugen tire in the snow, we would prefer not to. Braking on the light snow is not the most fun either. We have had a much better experience with some of the competition. The performance was deemed fair in reviews with a light snow traction rating better than deep snowfall friction or ice friction. If you live in a snowy area, you might want to buy a set of winter tires to have on hand when the now comes.

Comfort & Noise

The Crugen Premium KL33 tire is considered a touring tire. This means that they are excellent for long rides. It provides a super comfortable ride when you are on smooth roads and highways. However, this Kumho tire does not do the best over bumps or potholes.

As far as noise goes on the KL33, it is fairly good we feel. However, in a review, it has been stated that over time the noise gradually becomes louder on the Kumho Crugen Premium KL33.

Kumho Tires Review: Conclusion

We feel that the Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 is an impressive bargain. Priced right and with a decent warranty, it provides ride comfort with a smooth quiet drive. These tires offer high performance and have rated high in reviews for dry conditions. They will work well in the summer season, but if you get a lot of snow in the winter season, or live where there are lower temperatures to get ice, you may wish to plan on purchasing wintertime tires. They do excellent on smooth city roads and the highway, as long as there are not a lot of bumps or potholes.
