The Yokohama Ice Guard IG52C is a studless tire that was manufactured for vans, sedans, coupes, and compact cars. These winter tires are not only proficient in cold weather but can assist in driving challenges such as ice, snow, and slush.
The Ice Guard IG52C tire provides all the business’s harsh snow service requirements and is labeled with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) icon.
Yokohama was established in 1917 in Japan. In 1930, the first tire was produced at the Yokohama factory and in 1938, they manufactured the tires used on the Grosser Mercedes. Three year later they began manufacturing tires for Japan’s zero fighter planes. In 1954, the first snow tire for the company was released. Once 1969 hit, the company opened up a plant in the United States. By the 90s, they were launching various tires on other passenger cars, leading them to where they are today.
Terrain
Stability on wet and dry roads is due to the triple 3-D Sipes that connect together to boost block rigidity. Dry handling, along with stability, can be attributed to the extra-wide center rib and large control blocks. Snow, slush, and water are all effectively drained because of the circumferential power grooves and the lateral slush grooves.
